Bal Harbour Shops Is A Partner At Brickell City Centre
When Brickell City Centre opened in 2015, South Florida’s luxury seekers will be dealing with a familiar retail company. The owners of the Bal Harbour Shops are partners on this project bringing the most luxurious and sophisticated brands world wide, Saks Fith Avenue and Apple are one of the few anchors in the project.
The moves are a dramatic sign of the shifts in Miami’s luxury retail market, a segment the Bal Harbour Shops have controlled since 1965. With Miami’s ascent as a fashion market, retailers have insisted that one store is not enough. The change was underscored last year with the arrival of brands like Louis Vuitton and Prada in the Miami Design District, which is poised to become Miami’s version of SoHo.

The Second phase of this project is a proposed 88 story tower on Brickell Avenue.
One Brickell City Centre will include approximately 120 hotel rooms, 256 residential luxury residences, 676,853 square feet of office space, and 66,915 sf of retail space. Levels 1 through 30 of the tower will be dedicated to office space. Residential units will start on the 34th floor through the 66th, and a hotel will occupy floors 70 to 78.
This is the second phase of this project, Dade County’s zoning height map permits a building of 1,010 on the property, while Swire has requested a height above 1,100 feet.
The addition of the tower will bring the total size of Brickell City Centre to above 7 million square feet (including below grade parking and loading/circulation):
